MANILA - AMERICAN SOLDIERS BALIK-BALIKPRIVATE MAILING CARD
An original European style postal card showing American soldiers with some of the locals.American soldiers were in the Philippines in 1898 for the Spanish-American War. The soldiers are in uniform and are all wearing their hats. Nearly all are holding their rifles. The card may have had a stamp at one time but it was not posted. There is one larger dark stain that goes through a little, and several smaller ones that don`t. The corners are decent and there are no creases. We have not found anything like this to compare it to but we feel that it would make an outstanding addition to any Philippines, military, or early postcard collection.
(Note: Photos may show magnified dust, a flash reflection, or color washout.)
